PEDIATRIC
CARE
Our Approach:
Monroe Community Hospital has served the greater Rochester New York area with a unique Pediatric program for more than 35 years. We are the only long-term care program in the region specializing in pediatric care for children with a variety of complex medical conditions. The nursing unit promotes a fully accessible and homelike living environment that provides for the children's total physical, social, and psychological needs. We provide an on-site classroom, individualized educational planning, and both indoor and outdoor activity areas, including a fully-accessible pediatric playground.
Our Programs:
Our programs are person-centered, culturally sensitive, community-coordinated, and focused on outcomes and quality of care. The programs use an individualized, developmental, interdisciplinary, and age-appropriate approach to care. Our collaborative care team, including medical staff from the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Complex Care team, provides individualized, multidisciplinary care plans and is well versed in discharge planning to the community. Our state-of-the-art rehabilitation ensures that care focuses on preventing further impairment while maximizing growth and development.
